Ukraine launches the ‘Museum of War’ as part of its fundraising campaign for cyrpto-crowdfunding

A single NFT from this collection costs 0.15 ETH (roughly $468), and is part of the “Warline” collection. The assets in this collection are sold chronologically based on the dates depicted

The Ukrainian military has started auctioning off a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as it continues its cryptocurrency fundraising campaign. The Ukrainian government claims to have collected over 65 million for its war effort so far.

In the ‘Meta History: Museum of War’ collection of images, you will find a series of digital images depicting various moments of the conflict. The images include black and white silhouettes of warplanes, news articles and cartoonish animations of explosions.

Three days after Russia launched the invasion that Moscow describes as a “special military operation” in Ukraine, Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation began appealing for donations in digital tokens such as bitcoin and ether.

NFT’s new series is designed to spread truthful information in the digital community around the world and to raise funds for Ukraine, according to a message on the collection’s website.

As part of the “Warline” collection, the price for each NFT in this collection is 0.15 ETH (roughly $468), with the assets being sold in chronological order of the depicted dates. According to Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation and Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, the new platform will be a “place to keep the memory of the war” and a “celebration of Ukrainian identity and freedom.”

It is expected that funds raised from sale of NFT will be paid directly into the cryptocurrency account of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in order to support the military and aid the civilians.

There has been an increase in crypto donations since the Russian invasion began, with over $100 million pouring into the region. The majority of the money flowed directly to Ukrainian government according to data from analytics website Merkle Science. As reported earlier this month, UkraineDAO raised $6.75 million through the sale of an NFT depicting the Ukrainian national flag.

In a blog post, Fair wrote that NFTs have shown how powerful community can be, and the power of voices from many and one that speak out.
