Telegram Wallet Users Gain Access to Tokenized Equities via Kraken and Backed
Wallet in Telegram is partnering with Kraken and xStocks operator Backed to roll out tokenized US equities for companies like MicroStrategy (MSTR) and Nvidia (NVDA).
On Wednesday, Telegram also announced a strategic collaboration with German company Deltacept to facilitate crypto payments at conventional merchants.
A Wallet in Telegram spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the rollout will begin in limited markets to test adoption and user experience. The company aims for regulatory compliance while planning broader accessibility over time.
Expansion to Self-Custodial TON Wallet
After the initial custodial launch, Wallet in Telegram plans to extend tokenized offerings to its self-custodial TON Wallet by Q4 2025.
In October, 35 tokenized stocks will be listed in the “Stocks and ETFs” section, including:
By the end of 2025, the platform expects to expand to over 60 tokenized US equities and ETFs, fully collateralized 1:1 with the underlying asset. Bitcoin ETFs will not be launched, though bitcoin can still be purchased via the custodial crypto wallet.
All tokenized equities’ prospectuses are compliant and provide detailed disclosures for investors.

Emerging Markets First, Global Expansion Later
Backed plans to launch first in emerging markets, although eligible countries have not been fully disclosed. Previous xStocks launches have focused on regions outside the US and sanctioned areas, supporting over 170 countries worldwide.
Users can trade for free until 2025, with withdrawal fees applied later for tokenized stocks and ETFs.
Telegram Founder’s Crypto Background
Telegram Founder Pavel Durov revealed that his early investments in Bitcoin remain a major source of income, inspiring the project. Speaking to research scientist Lex Fridman, Durov said:
“I’ve been a big believer in Bitcoin since virtually the very beginning of it. I purchased thousands of Bitcoin for the first time in 2013, I didn’t really care.”
