OpenAI Business Users Exceed 1 Million; Premium Subscriptions for New AI Models

OpenAI’s paying business customers have crossed one million, representing a huge increase from April. OpenAI intends to create premium subscription options for its forthcoming AI models, which may cost up to $2,000 per month. With big businesses like as Apple, Nvidia, and Microsoft sponsoring OpenAI, its worth may soon approach $100 billion. Additionally, ChatGPT’s weekly active users have increased to more than 200 million, demonstrating OpenAI’s sustained supremacy in the AI market.

OpenAI has achieved a huge milestone, with over one million paying corporate users subscribing to its AI services, which include ChatGPT Enterprise, Team, and Edu. This is a remarkable 67% growth from April, when the firm had 600,000 users. As OpenAI continues to dominate the AI world, it plans to provide premium subscriptions for its forthcoming major language models, Strawberry and Orion. These new plans might cost as much as $2,000 per month.

This statement followed the release of xAI’s Grok-2 AI assistant in July 2023, which is projected to compete with OpenAI by 2024. Despite the competition, OpenAI is focused on expansion, with a valuation that might exceed $100 billion. Apple and Nvidia are apparently interested in joining in OpenAI’s future investment round, along with Microsoft, which currently has a 49% share in the business.

In addition to its economic success, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has witnessed an increase in utilization, with over 200 million weekly active users, more than tripling last year’s data. However, despite its quick expansion, OpenAI’s income, which is presently roughly $3.4 billion per year, has not exceeded expectations.

OpenAI has also been involved in the regulatory realm, supporting California’s AB 3211 AI bill, which would mandate watermarks on AI-generated material. Meanwhile, to govern AI and protect human rights, the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom have joined the Framework Convention on AI, a legally binding convention.
