The Bitcoin community in North Carolina starts a hurricane relief effort

The Bitcoin community in North Carolina is working together to help people who were damaged by Hurricane Helene, with a focus on places that haven’t gotten much help so far. With the help of a group of workers and medical professionals, they hope to get goods and help to the people who need it the most.

The Bitcoin community in North Carolina is planning a rescue operation to help the places most badly hit by Hurricane Helene, especially those that didn’t get help from the state or federal government. Emergency room doctors, workers, and former military members will be in a convoy that leaves Greensboro on October 4 to start the project.

There will be 12 people working on the project, led by the North Carolina Blockchain Initiative. They will have six big cars, several utility vehicles, four trailers, a horse, and a dog. The team will have chainsaws and medical supplies to clear away the trash and look for people who might be missing.

Ashe County, which has had a lot of trouble since the storm, is in the mountainous western part of North Carolina where the rescue effort will focus. A lot of the people who live in these areas are stuck and can’t get to important tools and services. The seriousness of the situation was emphasized by Dan Spuller, Head of Industry Affairs for the North Carolina Blockchain Association. He said, “The problems in Western North Carolina are huge, but the Bitcoin community has come together to help is inspiring.”

At least 189 people have already died because of Hurricane Helene, which has also caused a lot of damage to property and power cuts in many states, including North Carolina. As a category 4 hurricane, it had winds of up to 140 miles per hour, which caused a lot of floods and closed roads.

Along with real goods, the Bitcoin community is also taking gifts in both Bitcoin and regular money to help with their relief efforts. As the team gets ready to leave, they are still committed to helping people who are in dire need. This shows how strong and united the bitcoin community is in times of trouble.
