GoTyme Bank Makes Crypto Accessible to Millions; Expands the Philippines’ Crypto Banking Chapter
GoTyme, a digital bank in the Philippines with 6.5 billion customers, has partnered with a United States-based fintech firm, Alpaca to launch its range of crypto services. The launch is a big step for crypto banking in Philippines, placing digital assets inside a regulated banking environment.
The GoTyme mobile app now enables users to buy and store 11 cryptocurrencies, choosing which ones to buy, while also making automatic currency conversions from Philippine pesos to U.S. dollars. The digital currencies you can trade include Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Polkadot and several other popular altcoins.
Nate Clarke, the chief executive officer of the bank, said we prioritise simplicity.
“Our product is designed to be simple and trustworthy. It’s made for users who want to buy crypto without worrying about complex charts and other apps.”
The bank’s screenshots reveal the purchase process only requiring a single tap, aligning with GoTyme’s vision of making crypto easy for common Filipinos.
A Rapidly Growing Digital Bank With Crypto at Its Core
GoTyme entered the digital finance space in October 2022. With backing from Tyme Group of Singapore and the Philippines’ Gokongwei Group, the Bank has a user-friendly platform where account creation and debit card activation can be done in under five minutes.
This streamlined onboarding process enables customers to almost instantly engage with crypto features doing away with exchange friction.

GoTyme Sets Its Sights on Regional Expansion
GoTyme is gearing up to introduce its digital banking and crypto model in Vietnam and Indonesia, two of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic fintech markets. The business is focused on rapid scale not short-term profits, Clarke said.
“We are still in a growth stage. We are not focused on profitability yet — we are focused on building a large customer base with high engagement.”
Analysts state that the digital banking service and convenient access to cryptocurrency will allow GoTyme to increase its market share as the region speeds up mobility in finance.
The Philippines Remains a Global Crypto Hotspot
The crypto market in the Philippines is one of the most active in the world. The 2025 Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index saw the nation ranked 9th on the back of strong grassroots use, remittances, and innovation.
According to media reports, the government is also exploring a proposal to create a national strategic crypto reserve of 10,000 BTC, referencing Bitcoin.
A Big Leap for Philippines Crypto Banking
The entrance of GoTyme into crypto signifies a major shift in the manner Filipinos access digital assets — it blends age-old banking trust with crypto convenience. With adoption accelerating across Southeast Asia, GoTyme looks all set to lead the next financial evolution in the region.
