CZ calls Elon Musk to act against rampant bots on X

Particularly for cryptocurrency users, the increasing proliferation of spam bots and false accounts on X causes serious worry. Former CEO of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), is urging Elon Musk to intensify efforts to eradicate these automated accounts, which are regularly used for phishing campaigns, impersonation, and frauds. CZ thinks X should limit bot activity while still allowing practical application AI technologies.

The X Persistent Bot Problem

Particularly in the crypto world, spam bots and false accounts keep overwhelming X. These automated accounts spew phishing links, false advertisements, and scam tokens all over the network. Many pass for crypto influencers, fooling consumers into interacting with bogus investment prospects meant to pilfer money.

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has lately openly advised Elon Musk to implement more stringent policies against bots. CZ underlined in a recent article that he only wants to interact with actual users, so he advised against running automated postings via API. He underlined that, although technologies driven by artificial intelligence can be helpful for chores like hotel booking or code writing, they should not be included in social events on X.

Musk’s Battle to Fight Bots

Musk has admitted the bot issue and suggested fixes since acquiring X, including minor user verification fees meant to deter bulk bot production. Notwithstanding these initiatives, many consumers believe that bots are still a common problem; some even contend that things have become worse.

Particularly in the shape of romance fraud, AI-driven frauds have also exploded. AI chatbots let scammers establish relationships with victims over time, finally fooling them into giving money or funding dubious businesses.

Studies also reveal that bots are rather important in controlling bitcoin values. Coordinating posts generates fake market movements that lead to pump-and-dump operations that expose gullible investors at loss.

Will Musk Eventually Act?

Although Musk has offered several solutions to address bots, many remain dubious about whether significant action will be made. X’s finance model—which includes sponsored verification—has unintentionally allowed bots to obtain blue checkmarks, therefore enhancing their credibility.

CZ’s call to action draws attention to mounting annoyance among X users who seek a more real and safe social media environment. It remains to be seen whether Musk will enact tougher rules or move otherwise to reduce bot activity.
