Bitget and UNICEF Launch Global Web3 Training for Girls
In a bold move to bridge the gender divide in technology, Bitget, a leading global crypto exchange, has partnered with UNICEF Luxembourg to equip 300,000 girls, mentors, and educators with digital and blockchain skills by 2027.
The program will run across eight countries—Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa—as part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition, which focuses on preparing young women for the digital economy.
A United Front for Digital Equality
Bitget joins other industry leaders like the Micron Foundation, Women in Games, and the Global Video Game Coalition under a joint vision: training 1.1 million girls in Web3 and tech over the next three years.
Blockchain4Her: Building Futures Through Blockchain
This initiative falls under Bitget’s Blockchain4Her program—a $10 million commitment to uplift women and girls through mentoring, practical blockchain education, and access to financial tools.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen emphasized the importance of accessibility, stating:
“We’re democratizing blockchain education. Every girl deserves the opportunity to gain skills for the future.”
Gamified Learning for Next-Gen Skills
A standout feature of the program is its gamified approach. Bitget Academy is working on UNICEF’s first interactive blockchain module, turning complex topics into engaging learning experiences through video game design.
“With over 3.3 billion gamers worldwide, gaming offers a natural and fun entry point for learning blockchain,” said Chen.
The initiative also explores how generative AI can personalize learning and widen access, setting an innovative example for tech education globally.
Addressing the Digital Divide
Currently, 90% of jobs worldwide require digital skills, yet millions of girls in developing countries remain digitally excluded. The UN estimates that this lack of access costs the global economy $15 billion annually.
By targeting underserved regions and populations, Bitget and UNICEF aim to create real pathways into the digital workforce, using blockchain as a tool for inclusive empowerment.
The Bigger Vision: Innovation Meets Inclusion
This program is more than just tech training—it’s about creating a blueprint for equitable digital transformation. As it scales, it could influence how blockchain is used for social good, ensuring that innovation doesn’t leave girls behind.
