AnchorNote Bridges Custody and Trading Efficiency
Deutsche Börse subsidiary Crypto Finance launched AnchorNote, an innovative off-exchange settlement solution designed for institutional crypto traders. Institutions can trade on multiple exchanges through the platform without removing assets from custody.
Philipp Dettwiler, responsible for custody and settlement at Crypto Finance, stated that AnchorNote bridges a vital gap between custody and capital efficiency.
The launch initially targets Swiss institutional investors, with plans to expand throughout Europe.
How AnchorNote Simplifies Institutional Trading
The AnchorNote platform leverages BridgePort to manage secure messaging between exchanges and custodians using middleware. Institutions can pledge assets, settle trades off-exchange, and earn yields safely and compliantly.
“As per BridgePort CEO Nirup Ramalingam, this infrastructure lays the foundation for the vast asset mobility required by institutional dealers.”
Users can access AnchorNote through an intuitive interface or via a simple API connection to transfer collateral and operate across platforms.

Crypto Finance: A Player in Regulation
Crypto Finance provides custody, trading, and investment products for institutional digital asset clients.
- Its German affiliate obtained four licenses from BaFin in February last year.
- The Swiss operations are regulated by FINMA.
- In 2021, Crypto Finance acquired a majority stake in Deutsche Börse.
- The firm already offers products on SIX Swiss Exchange, including Switzerland’s first crypto asset investment fund.
Off-Exchange Settlement Gaining Momentum
AnchorNote follows a broader industry trend, as major exchanges and custodians develop off-exchange settlement solutions:
- In July, Copper’s ClearLoop network integrated with Coinbase International Exchange for near real-time settlement without on-exchange asset transfers.
- In March, Sygnum partnered with Deribit to offer custody for institutional traders via Sygnum Protect.
These developments highlight the growing demand for resilient, dynamic, and effective trading infrastructure for professional investors.
